Newman Ranch

The Newman Ranch is located just 5 miles outside of Melstone, MT with over 2 miles of Musselshell Riverfront (Both sides of River). If you want to hunt big mule deer, river bottom whitetails and birds then make sure to check this ranch out immediately! Below are some details of the ranch! 

—The ranch consists of 381 acres of crop, with 220 acres being irrigated and 161 acres of dryland. There are 192 shares of water through the Delphia-Melstone Ditch (2 acre feet of water/share).

—There is a 2018 Zimmatic center pivot (6-tier/50 hp pump) in place that currently irrigates about 70 acres, however it is now capable of expanding full circle, creating an additional 40+ acres of irrigated ground.     

—Approximately 72 acres are irrigated by 4 wheel lines (30hp pump), leaving the remainder to be flood irrigated by gated pipe. 

—The irrigated hay ground produces 3 cuttings, (alfalfa/grass) and brings in 5 ton/acre and the dryland does 2 ton/acre. The center pivot was previously planted in corn and brought 27 (wet) tons to the acre.

—BIG Whitetails, Mule Deer, Antelope, Turkeys, Pheasants, Ducks, Geese, Sharp-tails, and an occasional elk frequent the property. The west side of the river is hunting district 530 and the east side of the river is 701.  The river has some big catfish!

—The ranch will run 130 pair of cattle    — 3 Phase Power (Northwestern Energy)    —Fiberoptic
